I wake up excited to go to work every day. I feel drawn to it, almost like a calling. I’m passionate about getting kids excited about what I teach and the sport I coach. Their enthusiasm makes me feel like I’ve accomplished something meaningful.

I encounter kids with extremely difficult lives, facing unimaginable challenges at such a young age. Some kids are upset on the last day of school because they lose a stable source of food, love, and attention. Providing this consistency is crucial, and I’m proud to do it. Public education is vital for these kids who need us and the system.

With a little effort, you can find many paths to a teaching license. Previous career experience can enrich your teaching, offering real-world knowledge that many lifelong teachers lack. Imagine bringing expertise from engineering or sales into the classroom.

I adore witnessing the growth of children from the beginning to the end of the year. My greatest passion is granting them access to literature, enabling them to escape into their own world through books. This passion is what led me to become a literacy coach, particularly for elementary students.

I believe my job is 49% teaching history and 51% shaping better human beings. Leaving the world better than we found it is crucial. My previous corporate job, though lucrative, was unfulfilling. Teaching is my true passion, where I can make a meaningful impact on others’ lives.
